Partnership to Empower adolescent Engagement in Research
Our research program is a dynamic exploration into the multifaceted lives of adolescents and youth in Canada, with a commitment to evaluate issues and experiences related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, and mental well-being. Through community-based participatory research, we actively involve young individuals in shaping the trajectory of our studies, ensuring their voices are heard and serve as catalysts for change.
Our program focuses on advocating for the unique needs of youth in Canada and the developing world regarding their overall health and well-being and recommends culturally sensitive solutions that resonate with the diverse narratives of youth in Canada and the developing world.
Our research is supported by the Canadian Institute of Health Research, Women and Children’s Health Research Institute, Funds for Innovation and Transformation, Worldwide Universities Network Research Development Fund, Endowment Fund for the Future: Support for the Advancement of Scholarship, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the Government of Alberta’s Women's Program and Regional Operations Directorate.
